Who founded People & Places?

People & Places was co-founded by Khaled El Assal, Mohamed Khaled El Assal, and Karim Khaled El Assal, together with co-founder and CEO Nabil Amasha, and launched on June 1st, 2022 with an event at the Great Pyramids of Giza. The El Assal brothers simultaneously lead Misr Italia Properties as CEOs and Managing Directors, and both have been named on Forbes Middle East's Most Impactful Real Estate Leaders lists from 2024 through 2026.

Nabil Amasha's published record spans eleven years on Emaar Egypt's founding team, Chief Commercial and Operations Officer at SODIC (2019-2021), and global Chief Marketing Officer at Aramex - long operating records at exactly the kind of master-planned coastal destinations People & Places now builds.

The build record at The Med, dated

For a developer founded in 2022, the public record is the clearest read. Construction at The Med has proceeded through three separately announced phase contracts: EGP 1.6bn awarded to Solid and ASASS Construction in January 2023; EGP 500m with RedCon Construction for The Waterfall Village's first phase in July 2024; and EGP 1.4bn with RedCon in July 2026, covering 321 units - 127 villas and 194 chalets - across three villages. Those are three separate contracts quoted as announced, not one total. As of mid-2024 the company's stated portfolio across The Med and Hills of One sat on a roughly 2 million square metre land bank, with a total investment portfolio announced at more than EGP 110 billion.

In July 2026, People & Places and Misr Italia Properties jointly signed with Marriott International for nine properties and over 1,500 hotel keys across Egypt - including a Ritz-Carlton hotel and residences and an Autograph Collection hotel and residences at Ras El Hekma - at a combined announced investment of EGP 56.7 billion, with the signing attended by Egypt's Prime Minister. Branded-hospitality commitments of that scale are one of the stronger public signals a young developer can put on the record, and we weigh them alongside - never instead of - each release's own delivery progress.
